Walter Scott Brown was born ?? in Montgomery county.
Walter was allowed to attend high school from 1911. It was there that he met his future wife, Verno Marie Detrick and they graduated together as classmates in 1915. Walter received additional schooling in bookkeeping and accounting and got a job with Dayton Power & Light. He rose through the ranks and stayed at DP&L his entire working life.
Verno attended and received a degree with a major in Home Economics from the Ohio State University. She taught Home Economics at Brookville High School for in 1920. She taught until 1921 she and Walter were married. She stayed a housewife for the rest of her life.
Source (1): The following is taken from an email from Bruce Shue: Walter and Verno were class mates graduating from Brookville High School in 1915. Her name is listed : Verno Marie Detrick. It also shows that she taught at BHS in 1920 but apparently for only one year.
